Jumpstart Your Career in Grad School: An intensive workshop for library & information science graduate students

Presented by the UCLA Department of Information Studies and the SLA Student Chapter at UCLA.

Your MLIS or MIS will arm you with terrific information skills, but it will be up to you to turn those skills into a rewarding, resilient, and sustainable career. What are the strategies and tactics you can put into action NOW as you progress through your program to help ensure that you graduate with a degree – and a career? Created by two seasoned information professionals, Kim Dority and Scott Brown, this intensive, day-and-a-half workshop will provide the insights, inspiration, coaching and practical tools you need to create the career of your dreams.

The cost of the workshop includes a workbook with more than 35 pages of LIS career information, worksheets, tools, and resource lists to help attendees continue to build on what they’ve learned in the workshop

When:
Friday, October 14, 2011, 6pm – 8pm and Saturday, October 15, 2011, 9am – 5pm. Continental breakfast, lunch and snacks are included on Saturday.
