UPDATED: This event has been postponed until 2013. We’ll let you know as soon as we hear any updates, because it should be a lot of fun!
From the SLA Southern California Chapter:
On November 14th, please join the librarians of the California African American Museumand the Natural History Museum for a two-library reception. This is a wonderful opportunity to visit two of Exposition Park’s finest museums, all in the company of your friends and neighbors in the library community.
From 4:30 to 6:00, CAAM’s new librarian Denise McIver, will throw open the doors and welcome you inside CAAM’s library with wine and light refreshments. A docent will be on hand to discuss “GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN,” one of the current exhibits.
At 6:00, we’ll head over to the NHM library. Richard Hulser has done a hero’s job here, and he’ll be on hand to tell you how to bring a library back to life.
The event is free, but parking is $10.00 (cash only). To park near CAAM, park in the lot between Exposition and Martin Luther King on the West Side of Figueroa. To park near NHM, park in Lot 3, on the east side of Bill Robertson Lane south of Exposition Blvd.
Please RSVP by Tuesday, November 13, to Drea.Douglas@hklaw.com so that we can have your names on the list for NHM. The museum will be closed and we will be escorted to the library.
