Welcome Soirée to Introduce LIS Clubs

The class of 2017 in the UCLA School of Information Studies have gathered and joined forces to create a special welcoming for the incoming students, the class of 2018. On Monday September 19th in the LIS Building (Room 111) at 6pm, officers and members of the many clubs within our department will present informal introductions on why incoming students may want to get involved in some of our clubs.

The SLA-UCLA chapter is associated with the national organization, the Special Libraries Association. We often collaborate with the Southern California chapter of SLA and are looking into getting involved with other local school chapters. Our events vary from informal mixers to tours. Last year we toured the Getty Research Institute, the UCLA Law Library, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles Library and more. This upcoming year will include some magical and unusual tours to really live up to our name regarding special libraries!

We look forward to meeting and welcoming the new cohort and hope you will be able to attend our upcoming tours and events for the 2016/2017 year.
